Dangers of Having a False Sense of Security

Sometimes having a self defense class or two under your belt can give you a flase sense of personal security. I say this because unless one has practiced certain moves over and over and over again, there is always the possibility of not having the kind of control needed to defend yourself against a skilled attacker. Meaning if you are not fighting skillfully in an almost automatic mode, you could over estimate yourself and do something foolish or take chances you would not normally even consider. A desperate criminal that is trying to rob you or sexually assault a female, has the confidence of knowing that they have overcome obstacles and likely gotten away with this kind of attack before. So how do you even the playing field?

In order to be successful and survive an attack or robbery attempt, you need an equalizer to even things up. One such equalizer that is inexpensive, quite effective, and easy to use is Pepper Spray. These little personal defense weapons are non-lethal, yet will take a perpetrator down in a hurry, while you, the intended victim get safely away. The point being, you need to have a sure-fire solution that allows you to keep a safe distance from an attacker, thus limiting the opportunity for them to interact closely with, and harm you. So for all of you who understandably have a false sense of security perhaps because you have some great Kung Fu, Karate, Wing Chun, or Ju Jitsu moves, save them for an exercising session. If you are just dying to try them out on someone in the real world; don’t waste your time or energy. Why take chances and ruin and good set of clothes grapping and interacting violently with some street vermin on the ground.
