Self-Defense with Taser Pulse
The more the population increases, the greater the threats on the street. Many women like to be prepared for the very real threat of a sexual assault or unprovoked attack. One of the best methods of defense is with the Taser Pulse with Laser Weapon. It works as a stun gun, and can effectively stop an attacker so you can get away.
This weapon is similar to what law enforcement officers carry around the world, and can pack the same stun that their weapons have. You need something that’s high-tech, yet seriously effective. Because most assaults are sneak attacks, you never know for sure if your attacker will be a small, medium, or a large "bad" person. It’s designed to be ultra compact so that you can tuck it undetected into your purse, pocket, or holster.
One benefit of this weapon is that the attacker doesn’t need to be within an arm's length reach for you to use it. The Taser Pulse can reach an attacker from up to 15 feet away. Once you’ve “shot” them, you’ll then have thirty seconds to run away. Not only does this give you time to have a safe escape, but you can also have time to call security or police.
This Taser Pulse is designed to resemble a pistol in form and comes with a tactile trigger, meaning you can actually feel the trigger reset after firing. So it performs and feels just like a real gun, but the difference is a reduced chance of facing criminal prosecution unlike a conventional bullet firing weapon. A Taser Pulse is a much safer way for you to stay on the right side of the law and a better outcome for an assailant. You can also discreetly carry it because it is designed in such a way that no one will be able to see or even suspect that you’re carrying it.
There are many great features on the Taser. It has shaved safeties and an angled iron sight. This provides for better concealment, and also allows for a smooth withdrawal or re-holstering, without worrying about catching it on anything.
Another great feature is that the laser-assisted targeting can help you to reach your target. The laser light is color-contrasting to help you with your aim. The Taser also has a bright and powerful LED light, so if you’re trying to determine whether it’s friend or foe at nighttime, the flashlight will help you to do so.
The Taser Pulse runs on a replaceable battery. Each battery will last for about fifty, thirty-second firings, making a great choice should you be faced with multiple attackers. There is also an illuminated battery status indicator light so you know how much charge you have left.
One great benefit of purchasing this product is that there is a Safe Escape Product Replacement Program. If at any time you actually must use it for self-defense, and you get frightened and drop it at the scene, Taser will replace the device free of charge. This has the additional benefit of ensuring your safety, as you won’t be freaking out that you’re losing an expensive investment.
If you often find yourself in desolate or dark areas of the city, buy the Taser Pulse for your personal safety, as the investment in your life is worth it.
Why Use Pepper Spray?
Many people would like to carry a self-defense product with them wherever they go, but often in many areas in this country, guns, knives, swords and many other self-defense weapons of a certain size and type are simply not a good choice by law. You could easily end up in jail, or be mistakenly fired upon by law enforcement in many jurisdictions. If you don't believe it, just try flashing one of these items around. These kinds of defensive weapons are not legal to carry in public places because of their deadly potential. Yet the fact remains that teens, men, women, disabled ones and seniors will continue to need some form of effective self-defense these days. One of the best solutions is simply to carry the well known Pepper Shot Pepper Spray, a non-lethal highly effective self-defense product.
Pepper spray is very easy to find online and for the most part, something that nearly everyone can afford. It usually comes in a small canister that is contained within a small plastic casing or leather-like holster and can comfortably fit into any pocket, belt, jacket, purse, or backpack.
You can hide it in your makeup bag or pencil bag if you don’t want anyone to know that you’re carrying it. It’s also small enough to tuck into a small evening bag for when you go to the bar or nightclub. Keep it with you at all times, because attackers may not necessarily try to do so only in secluded places when you’re alone.
The pepper spray holder comes in an assortment of colors and sizes. You can choose from black, red, pink, or blue in either a leather holster or injection molded jacket. No one will ever know it’s pepper spray—they’ll simply think you’re carrying a cell phone or a flashlight. The leatherette model holster has a silver snap closure on the front, which provides additional protection from you accidentally spraying yourself.
The personal models of pepper spray can be kept easily within reach, when you need to walk to your car or the transit late at night, or through any questionable part of town. The pepper spray holster has a handy key ring on it so you can attach it to your keys, your belt, or your pants buckle strap. The holster or holder is made from leatherette materials, and can be easily wiped clean with a cloth.
The Pepper Shot brand of Pepper Spray is made from natural capsaicin pepper. It has a 10% dilution that is rated at 2 million Scoville heat units. It’s made with a finer grain than any of the other coarser grain pepper sprays, providing a better wallop and a better chance of escaping from your attacker.
Pepper spray works by you aiming the canister in the direction of your attacker’s face and eyes, and pressing the button. It will deliver a fine spray to their face. The pepper spray will swell up their mucous membranes, causing breathing difficulties, as well as a swelling up of the eyes, making them quickly close shut. This gives you the opportunity to escape.
The negative effects of pepper spray is that it can last up to forty-five minutes and may require some intervention to rid oneself of these painful effects. The primary benefit is that pepper defense is non-lethal and causes no lasting damage to the attacker, minimizing your legal liability should anything ever come up and you go to court.
There is also a locking actuator on the pepper spray so that you won’t accidentally spray it while it’s being transported in your purse or pocket.
For your personal safety, pepper spray can be one of the easiest yet most effective self-defense weapons for the price. It doesn’t take any time-consuming training or lengthy specialized instructions to read. There are a few cautions to be mindful of such as avoiding spraying it into the wind so that it doesn’t blow backward and disable you by accident. If you can spray a bottle of hair spray or perfume, you can spray your pepper spray for legal self-defense.

You're On Your Own On Interstate Five
Where is Law Enforcement presence on the Southern California freeways these days? I know that times are tough, but the personal safety of citizens who dutifully pay their taxes "for that safety" have a right to expect reasonable enforcement of the laws that are on the books. We also should be able to expect the presence of officers that we pay our tax dollars for to patrol on a regular basis to help keep our highways safe. Yes, I am being idealistic. We have seen the news many times of late and we have all personally seen freeway safety being grossly abused by visitors to our country and by citizens as well. To be honest, I feel and probably most of the citizenry here feel helpless because nothing is being done to prevent this preventable lawlessness.
This should come as no surprise since government at all levels (State and Federal) seem to be asleep at the wheel (no pun intended) in the last 10 years. What do we have to do short of going up and down the coast of California picketing the CHP offices? To get something done about this deficit will become more difficult as the population increases, and increase is guaranteed. Where do we go for help these days to get protection from the highway mayhem so common these days?
My suggestion is to be proactive and get yourself a Dash Camera that records video and sound that develop in front of you and behind you at the same time. If for nothing else, you can cover your butt if someone is driving drunk, extreme speeding, stunt driving, or if there is a rear end collision in the case of tailgating. You can protect yourself and others by corroborating that the driver was reckless, following to close, or was just trying to intentionally push you out of his way. In either case, it could be the difference that it takes to win in a court case or an insurance investigation. The camera does not lie. I have one of these dash cams myself and it is easy to install and easier to operate. The resolution is very clear and in color. The camera operates in kind of a digital loop at either 2 or 5-minute intervals. After the memory is full it automatically erases previously recorded information. To play the recordings back just plug it into your computer and it will slowly download as a video file that you probably have provision for on your system without doing anything else.
But as far as dash cams go, wherever you are going these days you need a record of events such as road rage, tailgating, and just plain negligent driving. No doubt you have seen the 20 somethings on our highways playing their childish "Fast and Furious" games as though no one else was there, If not for yourself maybe you can help someone else prove their case if they go to court or if there is an insurance issue. The odds of anyone seeing an incident or accident and remembering what happened in sufficient detail are slim to none.
When driving the highways and by-ways in California you are pretty much on your own and no one is going to come to your rescue when the unexpected happens until it is too late. Then law enforcement has to show up to clean up the mess and maybe transport you to a hospital or worse. If you have a dash cam you are one step ahead of the game when it comes to the turn of events. They are inexpensive and easy to operate so what are you waiting for? Get one from Great Wall Defense today! greatwalldefense.com

Video Recording and Privacy
I was wondering if anyone feels that their right to privacy is being invaded with the current trend towards surveillance cameras and hidden cameras being used so freely these days. Do we have an expectation of privacy anymore, and if so where does one draw the line? We often hear of certain individuals suing other individuals for unauthorized video recordings; especially in hotel rooms. I mean video recording a hotel room is a "no-brainer" for an invasion of privacy! When does it become ok to video record people going about their everyday routine when they are not misbehaving. It definitely smacks of a loss of freedom, but many say it is necessary to avoid a greater evil, or that they want to make sure that if something bad does go down, there is ample evidence. For example having a camera in 7-Eleven seems like a great idea since they are notoriously fertile ground for robbery; sometimes ending in the death of a cashier or attendant. It seems that lately the line is being blurred as to when it is appropriate and when it is not to play Candid Camera under certain circumstances. When do you think video and audio recording would be appropriate? Where would you draw the line? Will they start to record us in the restrooms at the urinals or inside the toilet stalls soon? They probably already do; saying that they are trying to prevent drug deals in restrooms or something to that effect!
On the other hand, I would certainly use a Hidden Camera or Surveillance Cameras if there was a justifiable reason such as preventing theft, burglary, drug deals, etc. If I could avoid becoming a victim of a crime, or if I needed to monitor a nanny (nanny cams) or babysitter who I suspected was abusing a child of mine; then you had better believe I would use one. The good outcome outweighs a temporary loss of undeserved privacy when it comes to someone with ill intentions who are bent on acts of malice. This kind of person, in my opinion, has given up their right to privacy because they are not deserving because they are a citizen that obviously cannot be trusted. Law abiding citizens don't have to be watched as a rule, but a criminal mind must be watched as though he/she were behind bars with guards on the watch. People in Jail have very little privacy likely because if allowed Privacy to them is potentially a chance to work bad deeds.
Tips for Running and Jogging at Night
Running, walking or jogging at night to exercise, sometimes requires placing yourself out there all alone with just your fragile little flesh and bones right alongside potentially dangerous rolling metal boxes. To add to this dangerous situation, the rolling metal boxes (motor vehicles) are likely under the control of unpredictable drivers prone to voluntary (cell phones/texting) or involuntary distraction, unsafe speeds, and just plain absent-mindedness. Unfortunately, this situation is a growing reality that can mean serious consequences for everyone “not” in a metal box with rubber tires; namely those who are now running, walking, jogging and bicycling.
This situation is compounded by those who choose to go out in the evening and into the night. The threat of physical harm or even death (by vehicle) can be a real cause for concern to many well meaning, yet vulnerable people when the sun goes down. Because of this growing trend, certain cautionary measures need to be considered (or at least mentioned) if you decide to run, walk, or ride a bike after hours.
Common sense should tell you that if one is going to go out at night for any of the above reasons, then your clothes, your movements (including any sudden changes in direction), or shoes need to symbolically “scream out” (to drivers), “Hey look over here; here I am!” For example, if you suddenly want to change your course or direction in relation to where you are (running) at any given time, then try to telegraph your intentions to drivers well in advance of executing the change. Think of it in the same context as that of a driver using a turn signal indicator to let other drivers know their intention to turn well before actually making the turn, in order to avoid any confusion as to your next move.
Applying this same principle to runners, means they should avoid surprises and irrational movements such as dodging in and out between parked cars. These are the kinds of abrupt actions tend to confuse drivers who have little time to react when they are given no warning. So if you do need to change your direction or pattern of running, make sure the driver notices you by your cautiously taking the time to first get their attention and then making sure they know your intention well in advance.
Since running and other activities performed at night present these increased visual challenges (to runners and drivers), certain wardrobe changes may also be in order as well. Here are some suggestions that just make good sense. For starters, always wear bright, white, or luminous clothing capable of reflecting light back at drivers so they will see you easily and clearly. You need to be obvious to them even if it means wearing one of those bright orange or yellow glow-in-the dark vests that city street workers wear. On several different occasions, I have seen runners with the “glow” built right into their sneakers and running attire making it really easy to see them at night. They are the smart ones.

A Safer Pool This Year
A swimming pool can be the source of a lot of fun and exercise during the year without ever leaving your home.
There really is no substitute for an adult or responsible swimmer being present to supervise children while they are having fun in the pool for children to be safe. But too many times that is not possible and children have a tendency to seek out pool fun on their own when you may be unaware. Children are naturally curious and the fun times associated water play make a swimming pool too great a temptation to resist for them.
Kids sometimes have a tendency to unexpectedly drift away and head directly towards certain potentially dangerous areas around the home or like the cement pond out back, Obviously, it follows that if we have a pool, then we need to be responsible and take precautions warn us or other measures to prevent them from being there unattended. Some put up fences around the pool with a locked gate and an alarm in case it is accidentally left unlocked. Some states actually require this by law. But as experience tells us, even with the best efforts to safety-proof your pool someone will slip through the cracks and end up in your pool uninvited. Experience also tells us that most disasters usually strike quickly when we are totally off-guard. It happens, and we all need help sometimes to increase the odds that a better outcome will result in the end.
If by chance you are in the house at the time, there is a portable remote (in house) base station (200 ft. range) that acts as a back-up second alarm to alert you as well. This back-up feature will give you that second layer of safety to hopefully draw your attention from inside the home to the potential problem in the pool area. Meaning that you need to get there right now.
The SAFE FAMILY LIFE POOL ALARM is self-contained, light-weight, water-resistant (not to be totally immersed), very sensitive, highly audible, and easy to operate the unit. It is battery operated (has audible low battery warning) and uses (2) 9-volt batteries (not included) that power the pool deck unit. The remote unit comes with a 12-volt power source to be used in the from inside the home. It comes with an easy to install poolside stud mount that will hold the unit to the deck to prevent it from slipping into the water. But the mount and the handle on top of the unit allows the Pool Alert to be effortlessly lifted up and removed from the water if necessary. This is an important feature during those times when the pool is busy with adult and responsible swimmers and not needed.
Overall the Pool Alarm System (not to be confused with Pool Guard) is an affordable and convenient way to protect yourself and children from the possible dangers that are associated with swimming pools. There are many on the market that cost a lot more but do a lot less than the Pool Alert does.
